Pumpkin Patch 2018

Sunday 10:00 AM, we went to pumpkin patch at the Irvine Railroad Park.  William had lots of fun riding the car and the pony.  He kept saying “No Tutu Train”.

William was really bad at riding the car but the staffs there was really nice and patient.  However on the 2nd time, we waited for 20 minutes this time, the new young man staff was not as much patient, he let William out of the race because William hit the hay stack.  Poor little William, he kept saying “I want to try again” but they would not let William go back in.

Most of the activities cost 1 ticket, which is $5.00.  Pony ride is $5.00 too which pay at the Pony area, no need to get the ticket because it’s a different company.

Car Racing, William still doesn’t know how to control it yet so he kept bumping into hay stack.
I was surprised he said Yes to Pony rid, but he did not look like he enjoyed the ride though.

First Haircut

Saturday 3:00 PM.  William’s hairs getting long but he refused to let me cut it.  So I have to wait until he sleeps and then try to cut his hairs.  But it’s tough because he’s a light sleepy; he can tell when I touch his hair and would sit up and say “No cutting!”.

So today we had an appointment at 3 at Sharkey’s Cuts for Kids which specializes in cutting hairs for children.

He started to say No, No cutting when we arrived to the store; and refused to sit on the chair.  So finally he ended up to sit on the small chair in the play area.  One nice thing about this salon is that there’s no noise from the hair trimmers at all.  They have 1 tivi at each station; they also have video games if the children choose to play instead of watching Tivi.  Jessica, his hair stylist, kept asking if he wanted to watch different movie but he said no. (The train movie was playing because the kid came before William was watching it).

So finally his hair cut is done with me sitting next to him kept talking and asking him question and let him watch my phone to distract him.

I love his new look; we should have taken him to have a professional hair cut sooner.

The cost was $24.59 and I gave Jessica $5.00 tip.  They accept credit cards.

Jessica was showing William the trimmer and assuring him that it’s not gonna hurt.

And his new look

After his haircut, we stopped by the market Spouts next door, he loved to run around inside the market.

Trunk and Treat – Halloween 2018

Friday, our ABA session was taken place at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, where the Truck or Treat event was held.  William’s cousins went to this private school so we got to tag along to the school’s private event.  All participants opened their trunks and decorated with Halloween theme which is really cool.  The children then lined up and went to each car for candies.  There was music, and lots of children participated.  I think William had a great time.  We only went 2 rows but he already had a full bag of candies; he looked tired so we decided to go his cousins car to sit down.  It was a long day for him: class in the morning at Lincoln school, then Children’s world preschool till 5:30, then we picked him up and took him directly to the event.  So he must be hungry too.   One of the car offered the chicken nuggets, he grabbed that and took 1 bite; that was when I realized it was late and he must be tired and hungry.

With BT Jody and Thomas always around William, I felt very relieved; and lucky for us William behaved that day, he did not run off around; he actually stayed on line and followed it.

The event opened the gate at 5:30 PM, started the line for Treat or Trick at 6:30 and ended at 7:30 PM ($5.00 per car).

Our little Ninja

Jody and Thomas are really taking their job seriously; they follow William wherever he goes. Thank YOU!
Shopping for Halloween, somehow he was so attached to the chain that we had to buy it.

A Typical ABA Session

Monday 5:30 PM, we have ABA session with Thomas as usual.  Today Huy, the supervisor stopped by; Jody did not come because she will come to Truck & Treat event with Thomas and us on Friday at the Blessed Sacrement Catholic Church in Wesminster.

In a  typical ABA session with Thomas, he would let William jumps in the Trampoline for about 10 minutes and/or walk with dad Tim outside the house to practice “Wait” and “Come Here”.  Then William would take a shower.  When he’s done with shower,  Thomas would ask William what game he wants to play; and the the last few weeks his response is either Monopoly or Uno.  He understands the basic rule of the games which is good; but sometime he cried or kicked because the game did not go the way he wanted.  For example, sometime he wants the Chance card when playing Monopoly but it’s Thomas who got the chance card, so he cried.

William talks a lot more playing game with Thomas; they’re bot so cute when playing.

Santa Ana Wind

Monday morning,  I took William to school as usual, the wind was so strong, when I came back I saw the big tree in front of our house was knocked down by the strong Santa Ana wind!   We were lucky, if we were late 5 minutes, the tree would hit us.  The wind also knocked down some pots, some ceramic vases were broken.

I called 911 but no one came until 1 day later.  The man said “Just so you know we did not forget about you but we got 257 calls today so we’re taking care of the trees that on the street.  I’ll try to send some one for you later today!”.   The tree felt on my yard so it’s not blocking any street access so I guess it’s not their priority right now, which I understand.

1 day later, the fallen tree is still there. On our way to school.

Touch-A-Truck

The Touch-A-Truck event is held by the OC Market Place in OC Fairground, free to attend.  It was a raining day but that did not stop us from going.   After going to swim lesson, we went straight to the event.   At first William did not want to go to any truck; so I took him to the police car because I know he’d like that.  After that he started to run around and touch this or that.  Luckily the rain was not that hard and the raincoat I bought him 1 year ago still fit.  We don’t have much rain in California so this is his 2nd time wearing it.

The line was not that long but it was moving slowly so I stood in line while Tim watching William running around.

Allergic to Peanuts Again!

Monday 11:30 AM. Got a call from the school nurse saying William was sitting in her office because his eyes were swollen.  She asked I I gave him any medicine in the morning, I said No;  She then asked if we ever used the EpiPen, I said “We never had to.”.  Then she said she’d let William stayed in her office to watch and would update me if there’s any news.

After the conversation, it struck me that she mention EpiPen!  it must be something worse that she was thinking about using EpiPen.  Soon she called me back and told me that the teachers gave out peanut ice cream, even though William did not get it but some how it affected him so that must be why he was scratching his eyes a lot.  And she asked that I picked him up.  It was 11:50 PM.

I came to the school right away; William was in the nurse office with Ms. Newman.  She said she threw away all the peanuts candies (Halloween is coming up, that was why she had candies) but some how William still got infected.  He didn’t throw up so that tells me that he did not eat any; so probably he touched it or smelled it.   He stopped scratching after the nurse gave him some Benadryl.

The nurse, Vanessa, said that she’s never seen any allergic case so she would not know if it happens right a way or after a period of time so she called Orange County office to find out.  They told her allergic reactions would take place right away.   I’m a little bit worried that the nurse is not very experienced so I’m a bit concern if she knows what to do and do things in the timely manner.

I took him home, made him a cheese sandwich, and gave him milk.  I cancelled the Speech therapy session so that he could stay home and rest.  After finish the milk, he felt asleep.  I went back to work, leaving him for Tim to watch.

His eyes are swollen and red

I Love You

Sunday Nite, William jumped from sofa to the white chaise; He did not stop there,he  reached for the glass vase; I was afraid he was gonna break it so I told him to not touch it.  He didn’t listen! He picked up the vase up, jumped down from the chair and handed the vase to me and said “I Love You!”.

I was so surprised because it was the first time he said I Love You and gave me the flowers!  what a beautiful gesture!  I said I Love You back.

It’s the clear tall vase with the little white flowers inside, which I got from the wedding yesterday.

Getting Along Well?

Playing in Mama’s car before heading to the day care.

Thursday, picked him up at Lincoln school; Ms. Birdie brought William and Jordan out to the gate.  While waiting for Ms. Birdie to unlock the gate doors, William held both hands to the gate and hit his head slightly against it.  When I told him “No, don’t do that”,  he said “Do not bump your head!”.  I told Ms. Birdie that William has been talking a lot more which is good; then Ms. Birdie shared a story.  She said William, Jordan and Dyllan have been playing together at break times and when out in the playground, they would look for each other.  I’m so happy to hear that; the fact that he’s starting to make friends is a big big improvement.

I’m always afraid that he’d feel lonely at school but now that I heard that from Ms. Birdie, I’m so comforted.
