Touch-A-Truck

The Touch-A-Truck event is held by the OC Market Place in OC Fairground, free to attend.  It was a raining day but that did not stop us from going.   After going to swim lesson, we went straight to the event.   At first William did not want to go to any truck; so I took him to the police car because I know he’d like that.  After that he started to run around and touch this or that.  Luckily the rain was not that hard and the raincoat I bought him 1 year ago still fit.  We don’t have much rain in California so this is his 2nd time wearing it.

The line was not that long but it was moving slowly so I stood in line while Tim watching William running around.

Allergic to Peanuts Again!

Monday 11:30 AM. Got a call from the school nurse saying William was sitting in her office because his eyes were swollen.  She asked I I gave him any medicine in the morning, I said No;  She then asked if we ever used the EpiPen, I said “We never had to.”.  Then she said she’d let William stayed in her office to watch and would update me if there’s any news.

After the conversation, it struck me that she mention EpiPen!  it must be something worse that she was thinking about using EpiPen.  Soon she called me back and told me that the teachers gave out peanut ice cream, even though William did not get it but some how it affected him so that must be why he was scratching his eyes a lot.  And she asked that I picked him up.  It was 11:50 PM.

I came to the school right away; William was in the nurse office with Ms. Newman.  She said she threw away all the peanuts candies (Halloween is coming up, that was why she had candies) but some how William still got infected.  He didn’t throw up so that tells me that he did not eat any; so probably he touched it or smelled it.   He stopped scratching after the nurse gave him some Benadryl.

The nurse, Vanessa, said that she’s never seen any allergic case so she would not know if it happens right a way or after a period of time so she called Orange County office to find out.  They told her allergic reactions would take place right away.   I’m a little bit worried that the nurse is not very experienced so I’m a bit concern if she knows what to do and do things in the timely manner.

I took him home, made him a cheese sandwich, and gave him milk.  I cancelled the Speech therapy session so that he could stay home and rest.  After finish the milk, he felt asleep.  I went back to work, leaving him for Tim to watch.

I Love You

Sunday Nite, William jumped from sofa to the white chaise; He did not stop there,he  reached for the glass vase; I was afraid he was gonna break it so I told him to not touch it.  He didn’t listen! He picked up the vase up, jumped down from the chair and handed the vase to me and said “I Love You!”.

I was so surprised because it was the first time he said I Love You and gave me the flowers!  what a beautiful gesture!  I said I Love You back.

It’s the clear tall vase with the little white flowers inside, which I got from the wedding yesterday.

Getting Along Well?

Playing in Mama’s car before heading to the day care.

Thursday, picked him up at Lincoln school; Ms. Birdie brought William and Jordan out to the gate.  While waiting for Ms. Birdie to unlock the gate doors, William held both hands to the gate and hit his head slightly against it.  When I told him “No, don’t do that”,  he said “Do not bump your head!”.  I told Ms. Birdie that William has been talking a lot more which is good; then Ms. Birdie shared a story.  She said William, Jordan and Dyllan have been playing together at break times and when out in the playground, they would look for each other.  I’m so happy to hear that; the fact that he’s starting to make friends is a big big improvement.

I’m always afraid that he’d feel lonely at school but now that I heard that from Ms. Birdie, I’m so comforted.

Children’s Book Of Festival 2018

Sunday, another hot day.  Children’s Book of Festival was held at Orange Coast College which only 10 minutes from our house so we decided to check it out.  It took quite a bit of walking (thru the big crowded packing lot and the swap meet) because the school is big and we had no idea where it’s located; there’s no sign on the way either.  We found the direction signs only when we got near the event, which is not really helpful!

But we finally found it; there’s lots of booths with books but William only cared for the stuffs on the tables: he got some stickers, candies and rubber bracelets.  We passed by the Petting Zoo, he cut thru the line and went to the door but I caught him on time.  The line was long so I told him “Next time!”.  He seemed to be ok with that but after we stopped by a few more booths ( he touched the snake), he ran back to the Petting Zoo really fast; I had a hard time chasing him.  Luckily the line was shorter this time so we stood in.  The admission is free but if you want to by the feed for the animals, it’s $2.00/cup.   They had 2 ducks, 1 donkey, 1 llama and the rest are goats.

William loved feeding the animals.  They seemed to be very hungry.

William loves spinning the wheels
I can’t believe he kissed the snake!

Big Bounce America

Saturday @12:30 PM.  It was so hot.  Our session was from 1 – 2 PM.  William jumped for about 20 minutes and wanted to get out.  It was just too hot and made you feel tired so easily.   I think he likes the bounce house but the hot weather made him feel tired too much that he lost interest.  We got off early; and while waiting for Tim to go to the bathroom, he climbed off the stroller and ran off; he wanted to run to the car because he wanted to go home.  Ticket was $17.00/pp and it was about 1 hour driving to the Silverlakes Sports Complex (Riverside / Norco, CA). Parking was $10.00.  They set up a big tent with chairs for everyone to use, another tent next to the Big Bounce for shoes, strollers.  There was 1 food truck selling foods.
