San Francisco, Here We Come…

Saturday morning, flying to San Francisco via South West airline, begins our trip in San Francisco for 3 days (1/13-1/16).

Found a good deal on airfare from South West airline, $50.00/pp round trip so I went ahead and booked it.  The plan is to fly there, rent a car, check out the area and especially the Golden Gate bridge.

Love His Attitude Today

Having snack in Mommy’s car: 1 slice of cheese and milk, then chips.

Wed Morning 8:30 AM.  Dropped William off at Mitchell school;  he didn’t cry at all (today is the 3rd day after back to school, he cried the last 2 days); and when I stopped the stroller in front of his classroom, he stood up, gave me the pillow (he always wants to take the pillow with him) and headed to the door.   Once got in the classroom he came and sat down on a chair near his classmate!  Usually he’d just run and sit in a corner.   So I said, “Say Hi to your friend William!”, Mrs. Hana also encouraged him, “Hi Victoria”; and he repeated, “Hi Victoria!”

I’m so happy that it looks like he’s starting to blend in instead of separating himself from his peers.   I hope everyday he’d act like this.

12:50 PM. I came to his classroom to pick him up and found out he already had his backpack on his back sitting on a chair watching the movie.  Ms. Delma said he was so ready for me to pick him up.   When he saw me, he came running toward me and gave me a hug.   Love you, son!

First Day Back to School At Mitchell After Winter Break

Monday Morning  1/8/2018 at 8:30 AM.

Watching the rain from Mom’s car.

After 2 weeks break from Mitchell school, I took William to school, he cried and did not want to leave his car seat when we got to school.

I asked, “Don’t you want to see Mrs. Hana? Mrs. Hama really wants to see you.”

He said “No”.

So I asked “How about Ms. Susan?, do you want to see Ms. Hana or Susan?”.

To my surprise, he said “Susan”‘!

“OK then, let’s go to see Mrs. Susan.”

He got off the car seat and let me put him in the stroller, so I took him to his classroom.  When we approached the room 309, he cried again and refused to go in.   It just happened that Ms. Susan took another kid to the other classroom.  I asked, “Do you want to go to that room?”

He said, “Yes” and got off his stroller and ran after Ms. Susan!  I was so surprised.  All the time I thought Ms. Hana is his favorite :).

Looking handsome, son!

Tuesday Morning.

He cried just like yesterday and refused to get off his car seat.  So I asked ” Do you want to see Ms. Susan?”.  He said “Yes” again.  It was raining lightly when we walked to the classroom.  The water felt on his face and he smiled, I think he found that was fun.

Another Day at Day Care

Thursday 8:30 AM, I dropped him off a the day care; he reached to the doorbell located on the left side of the school door as usual (even thought we never hear the bell rings).  He walked in thru the little door, hung up his lunch box in his designated hook and then walked out to the playground.  He stood by the fence and watched as I drove the car away.

At the same time a mother dropped her son off; almost every kids at the school came up to him and said “Hi, Mathew!” while William was standing alone by the fence.  I wish that some day William can be that “Mathew”,; at least he can have some friends to hang out and that he won’t be feeling lonely.

Love Playing With The Sand

William and the sand box

Wed 8:30 AM; William went straight to the sand box right after I dropped him off.   Everyone says he loves to play with the sand.  He used the Lego block that he took from home to scoop up the sand.  At some point he almost lied on the sand; now the sand is all over his jacket & pants.  (He always takes 1 thing with him to school but never brings it back)

I was about to leave when I saw this boy Zackerie tried to take the Lego away from William’s hand.  William refused to give it, so Zackerie kicked the sand toward William.   Mrs. Rose Mary & Nancy were there but they didn’t see that scene.  I waved my hand and approached William.  Mrs. Nancy saw me waving so she came to me and asking what’s wrong.  I told her what just happened. She said “Don’t worry, I’ll keep an eye on him”; and turned to Zackerie who was still hanging around the sand box, “This is William’s mom; Be nice to your friend, ok?”

I heard stories from Ms. Annie, Han & Celestie about some kids at this day care are not nice to William.  Some twins don’t want to share, they block the slide so that William can’t use it.   And Dominique always picks on William.  This is the first time that I saw it with my own eyes.

This is a small environment and William doesn’t fit it well, how can he survive in Kinder Garden, which will be next year because he’s 4 now? As a Mom I’m feel worried and sad.

First Day Back to Day Care After Holidays Break

Morning Day 2 of the New Year, 2018; I have to work so I took William to Children World Preschool (Mitchell school is still on break until Jan 8, 2018 so William will spend his time at the day care full day this whole week).

Menu for this week, today lunch is served with Beans & Bacon with sandwich, I don’t think William would want to eat.

ABEST still have not received the authorization from Cal-Optima for William’s ABA services yet so there won’t be any Behavioral Technician coming to the daycare for William.   2 months contract with Magellan has ended on 12/31/2017 so ABEST is waiting for the new contract from Cal-Optima because Magellan is not handling ABA services anymore as of 1/1/2018.  If ABEST doesn’t receive the new contract soon, William will no longer receive any ABA services at the day care; However the sessions at home is still on.

I hope ABEST will receive the new contract soon; otherwise William will spend the whole day at the daycare without any BT to help him.
