It’s Saturday, Library Time

Saturday morning, We took William to Central Library for Book Reading but they canceled because they have Book Festival so we let William use the computer instead.

He played the song One, Two, Buckle My Shoes so many times and refused to listen to other songs.

He made loud noise so I told him “Be quiet!”, he repeated after me and said “Shhhh” but yet he continued make loud noise! 🙂

Story Time at Huntington Beach Central Library

William loves the guitar, he tried to touch it.

Saturday 9:30 AM.  Dad Tim had to work so I took William to the Huntington Beach Central Library for some Story Time.  They have Story times at 10 AM every Saturday for toddlers.   This is the 2nd time that I took William here; the first time when he was only 1 year old.

At home William was excited to go out; I told him we were going to the library.  He was fine with that.  But when stepped into the room and saw all other kids and parents, he tried to run out.  I held him back and let him sat on my legs.  The session started with some live music; gradually William turned around and look at the guitar player.  Then he stood up and went up/down the stairs in the audience area.  At some points he clapped his hands when others did.

Toward the end of the session, he ran out the door and running around; finally I could led him to the books area next to the Story Time room.

This app took our picture and allows to edit the pic, which is really cool.

ABA Session At The Library

William picked out a book in Children section

Monday evening, we had ABA session with Arron and PC with Jody.   Last week Jody mentioned that William seems to like the books a lot so she suggested that we should go to the library; so we planned for that to happen today.

Around 6:00 PM we Jody, Arron, William and I went to the New Hope library (in separate cars) which only 7 minutes from our house.   We practiced holding hand while walking on the walk way.  Once in the library we asked William to pick out the book, he picked a random one without looking at it; and then refused to pick any other book.  He did sit down for 3 minutes while Arron reading the book to him.  Then he stood up,  walked around; at some point running and talking very loud.

I opened the library membership and we got to check out 2 books today: A pop-up book Red Car Blue Car and The Best Birthday Party.   I read these book to him late at night and he seemed to like it: he didn’t ask for Baby Jesus or Zoo Animals which have been his favorite books for months.

He does seem to like listening to book reading; I think going to the library is a fantastic idea. I’ll try to take him to the library on the weekends when they have story telling time.
